NR Top 20
James Loving - National Radio Text Service - Saturday April 15, 2006 Jim Murray Tops The List - NBA Trivia & Kobe Bryant Hold Second - HBO's Don King Is Back @ # 9 - Cambodian Track Star So Tit Linda Tops 11-20 - RACIST RADIO Continues To Be A Hot Subject - Previous NR Top 10 Trying to figure out Internet ratings on Google or Yahoo is like trying to figure out the answers to outer space. There seems to be no end to it. You find more as you explore. Therefore having said that this is the latest National Radio ratings of most read stories according to Google. Our story on famed Pulitzer Award winning columnist JIM MURRAY continues to top the National Radio Top 10 list of most read stories. Murray has held this position for over a year. NBA Trivia featuring Kobe Bryant and Cambodia's Royal Palace continue to hold down the second and third positions but changing places. NBA Trivia now holds down the second spot and the Royal Palace slipped into the third position. Zico Leads Japan to the World Cup is a new entry into the Top 10. The story published in June 2005 leaped into the fourth position. WHY!!! We don't have a clue. National Radio is returning to its roots therefore our coverage of the Grammy Music Awards jumped into the Top 10. Since we have been recording the ratings it is the only entertainment story that has made it to the top five since our Asian Equation story in published 1999 and the Freshie Beauty and Talent contest coverage of 2005/06. Surprisingly our movie review from 1998 of boxing promoter Don King leaped back into the fray while holding down the number nine (9) position for an unauthorized HBO film of his life titled Only In America.. Though in recent years we've focused on international football (soccer) and haven't given America's NFL (National Football League) much coverage our reports on this years Super Bowl sparked some interest earning one of the stories featuring Jerome Bettis and the Pittsburgh Steelers in the number 10 position. TOP 11 - 20 Then sixteen-year-old Cambodian track athlete So Tit Linda's story Run To Win In Life about her going to Greece and competing in the 2004 Olympic Games tops the 11-20 positions. It's amazing how some stories won't go away…. Some maintain interest for good reasons and ...perhaps... some for bad. In the 11-20 group a story about a good man former NFL great Walter Payton remains of interest. Once in the top 5 it is in the 19th spot after being published several years ago. The Angkor Wat Temples is what it is... one of the WONDERS OF THE WORLD. It maintains readers interest holding the 20th spot. For whatever reason a story about RACISM 'Racist Radio' that was written in 1998 continues to captivate readers. Is it because racism remains a problem today particularly in soccer/football as FIFA has had to take a stand on the matter? Whatever the reason… if the problem didn't exist there wouldn't be anything to talk about. Agree or not?
