SOS…
KAKA'S THE BEST
Sports
rule once again as top story MAN CITY DEAL WENT KAKA is an old story
that continues to maintain the interest of our readers. The story
bolted up the charts from seventh place. The question being is the
interest in KaKa or the Manchester City surge in the rankings of the
English Premiere League.
Our second story of interest is about former American
Idol contestant SANJAYA MALAKAR STEPS UP TO CHALLENGE in his participation
in the reality show I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here where he showed
his grit and toughness by taking on and winning more challenges than
any of the contestants. He finished fifth on the show.
This column points out the disdain Malakar received
from AI judge Simon Cowell who treated Malakar as if he was worthless
and a waste of the viewer's time. Obviously from his being in the
Top 10 somebody out there likes Sanjaya including the contestants
on the I'm a Celebrity show.
Another spike in that column is our rant on CNN's RANTING
of WAR & MURDER THEMES. It's SOS for the PRO WAR CHANNEL. It raises
the question if there were no wars would CNN be in business?
KaKa must be the man as again he took two positions
in our Top 10 in taking the third position with our story KA KA SIGNED
SEALED & DELIVERED.
It's SEA Games time as the event will take place in
Laos in December thus the interest on an old story from 2006 SEA Games
$#!T Hits The Fan regarding the game fixing scandal took fourth place
on the charts. That story won't go away as it has been in the Top
10 for several months this year.
The SEA Games researchers seem to be busy as another
SEA Games story continues to qualify for the Top 10 as Cambodia Olympic
Committee Denies National Team SEA Games took the fifth spot.
Our 2008_NR_YEAR_IN_REVIEW_Part_2 took the sixth spot
and has been on the Top 10 all year. Purposely we held releasing the
part 3 and 4 parts of the 2008 Year In Review. Our intention was to
ad length of time from publishing the story and seeing how it played
out over time. We will release those findings soon.
The seventh spot was taken by David Beckham as we noted
BECKHAM SAYS LATER TO GALAXY - BYE BYE HOLLYWEIRD. The Spice Man was
serious enough to pay part of the fee to enable his now part time
role with the Galaxy and his preference to play out the remainder
of the season with A.C. Milan. That raises the bar of interest this
month in NR football related stories took five of the top seven positions.
The recent passing of Stephen Gately a member of the
boy band Boyzone seems to have generated searches for the group that
could have resulted in the return of our column regarding Ronan Keating
returning to the NR Top 10 charts in taking the eighth spot. The column
features Keating's concert in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
In a shocker a story that had zero interest when it
was released suddenly has sparked someone or groups attention regarding
our Phnom Penh column US AMBASSADOR TO CAMBODIA MUSSOMELI DEPARTS
took the ninth position. Since July there has been a spike of interest
in our stories regarding US politicians in Cambodia. Why the interest?
Stay tuned.
The tenth spot was taken by another old story that features
the passing of former Major league baseball great Kirby Puckett and
the then resurgent LA Clippers led by Elton Brand titled NBA's LA
Clippers Turn The Beat Around as they started winning games resulting
in a layoff appearance.
In tribute to the opening of the NBA season our Archive
feature dates back to 2001 with the focus being foul shooting by the
NBA's big men. The focus is on Shaquille O'Neal. The focus came about
when we were playing a basketball game in Cambodia and a Khmer player
said that Shaq couldn't shoot fouls well because he was so tall. We
did the research and the facts prove that the opinion was not well
founded.
In our top sections visited there were very few changes
in the ratings. The most notable change was the upward movement of
the Lakers from the ninth to the sixth position giving credence to
the rationale that in part the ratings changes are seasonal as the
NBA season begins this month.
A surprise is the return of the Entertainment sections
from 2006 and 2007. Why the interest? Check them out and go figure.
NR found its roots in the entertainment business in 1975. We've neglected
covering the field but given the interest in our material we will
devote more coverage to the field.
A side note is a press release Sean
Kingston Announces North American Tour Dates would have taken
the sixth position but since it is not a NR generated story it doesn't
qualify. We mention it since it appears Kingston has a large following
warranting the interest in the piece therefore he is noted given the
hits it has received. Also of note is our Top
10 from JUNE 2007 was out oldest ranking Top 10 listing.
