LaToya Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and American Idols impact the charts - GOOGLE DECEIVES - In the past the NBA has been overly sensitive to criticism. The problem stems from those who are in jobs longer than FIFA's Sepp Blatter and are in a comfort zone of power that exist at the club and league levels.
Sunday, July 31, 2011 THERE ARE NO MORE RESULTS FOR NATIONAL RADIO There were 57 of our stories on former Beatle Ringo Starr prior to the Google Hong Kong, China demolition of our listings. Now when you enter any subject that we've covered over the past 14 years they most likely have been deleted. At best in its place are only three listings. Then a message will ask do you want to see more from National Radio. When that link is pressed the message then reads SORRY THERE ARE NO MORE RESULTS FOR NATIONAL RADIO. Since our critique of those that represent Yao Ming in his business affairs the Google problem surfaced. Is THIS ABOUT FACE as in Asia losing face is a major issue. It all boils down to the relationships of the sources of information resulting in Google's move. The commonalties are NBA HONG KONG, GOOGLE HONG KONG and the Chinese government. How close is their relationship? How much do they sleep together? The beat and search goes on as to who is responsible for deleting our listing. Now that we're out of China our listings are up again but moved to the second page while New Zealand were given or PAID FOR five of the FIRST PAGE POSITIONS. WHY DOES ONE COMPANY HAVE FIVE FIRST PAGE POSITIONS? Stay tuned for more on this investigation. But the real purpose of our ratings is to see what stories are receiving the most attention. Yes Yao Ming and Dennis Rodman have already been discussed in Part 1 of this series. But the second spot of this months rating was quite a surprise with LaToya Jackson ranking second. She talked about her recollection of her brother Michael as well a publicizing her new book and recording. Jennifer Lopez made a strong return in taking the fifth spot. Apparently the interest in her was regarding her recent breakup with husband Marc Anthony. Our story was published in January regarding her being the new American Idol judge. American Idol took four of the Top 10 positions including the piece on Lopez. Idol took the 5th, 6th, 9th and 10th spots. Much of the attraction was on the final six with two stories on finalists Lauren Alaina and winner Scott McCreery. One football story made the charts taking the 8th position with CHELSEA'S NEW KID IN TOWN. It's about Chelsea's latest new managerial hire of 33-year-old Andre Villas-Boas. The subject matter is how long will he last under the scrutiny of owner Roman (The guillotine man) Abramovich. There was a major shakeup in the sections most visited. The two biggest leaps were the NBA and TV reviews. The NBA bolted to the 1st spot up from 9th. Television reviews leaped from 8th to 2nd. American Idol continues to have strength as it moved two positions forward from 5th to 3rd. Cambodian Sports leaped on to the charts as we recall for the first time in taking the 4th spot. BIZ WHO IS jumped from 10th to 5th. The Freshie Girl & Boy page returns to the list taking the 6th spot. We haven't been reporting on this contest but did write a recent story on one of its alumni TV host Teng Leakhena. The remaining four spots are holdovers from last month but their positions have dropped. It's not on the charts but there was a great deal of interest in our French language NBA column NBA MAX. This month we feature in our Archives listings the Lakers Die-Nasty given that so much attention was paid to that 4 PART SERIES with Part 4 receiving the most views. Also we take a look back in our BIZ WHO IS section regarding Bob Block who is the man that created the first Pay Per View television programming company SelecTV. This has been a frustrating and long winded NR Top 10. For the first time it resulted in being a 3 Part story. The bottom line is ya do what ya gotta do. Cheers the NR Radio staff.
