DEMOGRAPHICS
CHANGE
There
has been decided change n our NR Top 10 ratings with the NBA News taking
4 of the Top 10 spots. Given the material read the focus is on the 2009
NBA television schedule which took the top spot and the All-Star game
competitors and its balloting results. Those stories took the 1, 2,
3 & 6 positions.
Our sample was taken January 21st and doesn't reflect
the entire month's reports. We'll pick where we usually do in the middle
of the month for our next ratings report. Since we have 600 + stories
on our listings we sample the top 60 only.
The biggest shocker was a release regarding the 2009 PORSCHE
911 Targa 4S taking the 4th position. That is a first in being our highest
rising business story about a product. Our fastest riser was a focus
on KaKa and the cut throat attitude in the International transfer window
titled TRANSFER THIS - Does Money Talk Enough to Make Bulls#!t Walk?
As we now know KaKa refused to be lured by money and displayed integrity
and character that is hard to find in this day and age where ego, greed
and power dominate.
Our Video Beat columns continue to show a large readership
taking the 8,9 & 10th spots. The Celebrity Apprentice, Top Model and
American Idol are the focus of those columns. The Grammy Hall of Fame
took the 7th spot. That reflects the interest of our readers for entertainment
and music.
An unexpected result occurred in the sections most visited
ratings as eight new sections leaped into the rankings. They've all
been there before but this is the first time that there has been such
a spectacular change of order in the sections most visited rankings.
A shocker was our Technology and Business sections taking
the top two positions of the sections most visited. With the new season
of American Idol upon us that section jumped into the fourth spot followed
by the TV section. Since they locked down the 3rd and 4th spots it indicates
that our television reviews are making some noise and maintaining our
reader's interest.
The NBA took the fifth spot while our French language
archive coverage of the NBA in the NBA MAX section surprisingly bolted
up to sixth on our Top 10 charts. This is its highest ranking ever.
Some of the attention points up to an upward surge of
interest in our business and Internet Technology coverage. Though they
failed to make the Top 10 information regarding Lake
Aircraft Assets Offered for Sale was a fast mover after being published
January 11th it rocketed up to the 14th spot.
In technology Samsung Develops
World's Fastest and Largest Capacity 2.5-inch, MLC-based (256GB)
SSD with SATA II Interface published in June took the 15th position
indicating the staying power and continued interest in the product.
The Porsche 2009 911 MODEL automobile took
the 17th position.
Though our popularity has been largely based on our sports,

TOP 10 COLUMNS TAKE 5 of 10 Spots
As
the year winds down this month we took a look at the stories published
this year that appealed to NR readers. The NR Top 10 columns registered
five of the 10 positions and was also the top section visited.
The October NR Top 10 took the 8th position and was our fastest
riser of the month. Our Sports Notes column took three positions
on the list topped by September (4th), July (8th) and (6th) and
our July Extra edition locked down the 9th spot. Our television
review column Video Beat took the remaining two positions. The
oldest story was about former NFL (National Football League) player
Howie Long who made his made his underdog life TOP DOG. .-

NBA ALL-STAR BALLOTING FIRST RETURNS ANNOUNCED-

Howard Leads all Players, Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers
and Yao Ming of the Houston Rockets top the Western Conference
after the first returns of 2009 NBA All-Star Balloting Tops the
West. The 58th NBA All-Star Game will be played in Phoenix on
Sunday, Feb. 15. The game will air live on TNT, ESPN Radio and
in more than 200 countries and territories worldwide.
