TOP 10
JULY 2006 to JULY 2007 10
Not
much has changed in the overall National Radio Top 10 rankings.
Dr Beat Richner, musician Lam Morrison
and Cambodia's Royal Palace continue
to hold down the top three positions.
As a change of pace this month we will take a look at
the most popular stories during the period from July 2006 to July 2007.
Recording artist Ronan took the top spot when he
made his first ever appearance on Cambodian soil when he performed at
the Olympic Stadium Arena in Phnom Penh in May.
Ironically the number two spot went to our March Phnom
Penh column that reviewed the most popular stories in Phnom Penh that
we've done during the past nine years featuring Dr Beat, The Royal Palace
and former Cambodian national team football star Hok
Sochetra.
Pinoy Big Brother are listed in 7 of the Top 10 positions
3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9 & 10.
A Big Brother story on the Wendy Wars was the fastest
rising story on the list and locked down the 3rd spot. The story is
regarding the in house fighting between the final three female contestants.
American Idol joined
Big Brother for the 4th and 8 th positions when Phil Stacy and
Chris Richardson were voted out of the contest and Antonella
Barba was the talk of the show. The 4th ranking story also featured
last
seasons American Idol runner-up Katharine McPhee who was voted
the world sexiest singer by FHM Magazine readers.
Paris Hilton and the Beatles meet Larry
King roared to the number 5 position making it the second fastest
riser since the story was written just two weeks before we took our
survey.
Cambodia's Freshie Contest
reigned in the number 7 spot with a story FRESHIES HAVE THE LOOK.
The story focuses on responsible television as we;; as the fresh wholesome
Freshie look compared to the trashy look that permeates Cambodian television
today. It raises the question is Cambodia about a positive change and
a new look or a trashy portrayal?
The importance of a positive image on television was addresses
again in a Video Beat story IMAGE IS EVERYTHING that took the # 9 spot.
A business story on the ABS-CBN Network's plans to grow
their programming to appeal to their expanding International audience
closed out the list by taking the 10th position.
