DIRECTV’s Exclusive NCAA MEGA MARCH MADNESS™ Service Returns with UCLA’s Ben Howland UCLA’s Men’s Basketball Head Coach will Promote the DIRECTV Service for the Second Straight Year – Highlighting Award-winning Interactive features, Mix Channel and Expanded HD Coverage

EL SEGUNDO, California USA .-- (BUSINESS WIRE)) - Saturday March 22, 2007

DIRECTV’s exclusive 2008 MEGA MARCH MADNESS service, supplementing CBS Sports’ exclusive live network coverage of the 2008 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship, returns March 20-28, and for the second straight year, UCLA Bruins’ Men’s Basketball head coach Ben Howland will serve as its official spokesperson.

Howland, who has led UCLA to back-to-back Pacific-10 (2006-07) titles and Men’s Final Four appearances and in 2006, guided the Bruins back to the NCAA National Championship Game, will promote the exclusive DIRECTV service’s HD coverage – all 37 MEGA MARCH MADNESS games will be in HD this year – and innovative interactive features that have become a signature of DIRECTV’s sports packages. Howland will conduct a series of national and regional interviews, primarily with news and sports television and radio programs during the week leading into the Tournament.

“Because I sincerely enjoy using its products and services, I was excited when DIRECTV came to me with the opportunity to again be a spokesperson for its MEGA MARCH MADNESS service,” said Howland. “This package is unique in that it shows all the early round games that aren’t shown nationally on CBS, allowing fans to see those Cinderella stories as they develop.”

The MEGA MARCH MADNESS package provides exclusive access to all live out-of-market games and is the only way fans can see on television the 65 games of the NCAA Tournament’s first through final rounds, including games shown locally on CBS.

“The MEGA MARCH MADNESS service is truly the only comprehensive NCAA Tournament package out there,” said Eric Shanks, executive vice president of DIRECTV Entertainment. “While other providers may be content to show highlights, DIRECTV is offering fans exclusive access to up to 37 live games from the first three rounds of the Tournament, and this year, all of the games are in HD. By combining our award-winning interactive enhancements with expanded HD, we continue to add an exciting dimension to the Tournament broadcast and the customer’s viewing experience.”

Also, this year fans who are at work or stuck in traffic and want to record their game for later viewing, will be able to remotely schedule their home DVRs to record the games through DIRECTV’s free DVR Scheduler service. Fans can search and browse the guide and schedule recordings by going to DIRECTV.com through their computer or m.directv.com on their mobile phone.

The service, still available to residential customers for only $69, features a wide selection of high-definition Tournament game coverage broadcasts and a host of award-winning interactive television enhancements:

* A Game Mix channel features four broadcasts viewable on a single channel – allowing viewers to see all the live games on one screen all the time.

* Up-to-the-minute Tournament scores and statistics are available at the push of a button. An interactive receiver is needed to see scores from other games in progress while watching another game.

* On-screen Tournament bracket allows fans with DIRECTV interactive receivers to input and track their own game picks.

* More HD games will be available than ever before, with all 37 MEGA MARCH MADNESS games broadcast in HD. For the first time, each HD game broadcast will offer access to scores and stats via the interactive, on-screen L-wrap.
