NEW YORK, USA - (BUSINESS WIRE) Sunday March 13, 2011 The Federal Enforcement Homeland Security Foundation (FEHSF) will host the inaugural Tom Ridge Homeland Security Awards on Thursday, March 31, 6:30 p.m. at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York City. The Tom Ridge Homeland Security Awards will honor Federal Law Enforcement Agents from: Drug Enforcement Administration; Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives; Immigration & Customs Enforcement; Customs & Border Protection; and Federal Bureau of Investigation who have performed courageously and heroically in their respective Field of Operations. The event will raise awareness of FEHSF and most importantly, raise essential funds to provide immediate financial relief to families in crisis or who have suffered a tragedy. “High-profile support for this event has exceeded our expectations,” said Richard S. Kendall, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of FEHSF. “Patriotism and belief in our Mission is high across the country and we are honored to serve our friends in the Federal law enforcement community.” “March 31 will be a memorable evening as FEHSF recognizes the vital contributions of those men and women who serve the Federal Law Enforcement Community. I am honored to support the mission of FEHSF,” said Tom Ridge, Honorary Director of FEHSF, former Governor of Pennsylvania (1995 - 2001) and First Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (2003 – 2005). “It is a great honor for me to have this opportunity to commemorate America’s courageous federal agents especially with ongoing threats to our country and citizens in a post-9/11 world.” FEHSF is a Not for Profit organization established by a group of private sector business leaders and former, as well as current, Federal Law Enforcement Officials. It is a significant source of immediate Financial Grant issuance for Agents and their families when they are stricken by Line of Duty and non-Line of Duty deaths, illness, medical crises or other hardships. “At such difficult times, it is extremely urgent that financial resources be readily available,” said David S. Stone, Founder and Chief Operating Officer of FEHSF. “As an independent organization free from cumbersome regulations, we have the privilege to render a heartbreaking situation less painful for afflicted families.” Without the financial support of FEHSF and the immediacy with which these funds are made available, families who have sacrificed so much would have greater difficulty dealing with funeral costs, children’s needs and financial pressures. FEHSF also supports a variety of important community projects and programs to increase the likelihood that disadvantaged youth travel down healthier paths. FEHSF has also established a College Education Fund to provide financial aid to children left behind.
