Harlem Globetrotters Name Angela Leaney Executive Vice President, Brand Marketing

The world famous Harlem Globetrotters have hired Angela Leaney as the team’s new executive vice president, brand marketing. Leaney will report directly to Globetrotters’ CEO Kurt Schneider.

Leaney will be responsible for building the overall Globetrotters brand and its popularity with fans worldwide. This will incorporate creative strategy and production, media planning, digital, advertising, research, promotions, etc.

A native of London, England, Leaney brings two decades of marketing experience to her new post, focusing on wholesome family entertainment. Leaney spent the last two-plus years as the chief marketing officer of Newsweek, and was senior vice president at Nickelodeon for the previous eight years, working as a creative director and in brand communications, marketing to preschool, teen and parent demographics. Prior to joining Nickelodeon, Leaney was the lead creative advertising strategist, research analyst, and brand positioning strategist at Oglivy and Mather in Los Angeles.
