2010 YEAR IN REVIEW - Part 2 - FORMER US VP DICK CHENEY YEARS TOP STORY
Television played a major role in how people think. CNN and FOX News are the most negligent in presenting balanced reports. The cover-up of the Cheney story indicates collusion of major media with US government institutions. Nine of our top 19 stories came from viewing films and television including the CIA's Secret War
Thursday January 27, 2011 THE COVER-UP OF CHENEY'S $250 MILLION PLEA BARGAIN FINE Though 2010 wound down with the biggest story of the year more so than the riots in Thailand or Cambodia's Bridge of Death was the cover-up of former US Vice President Dick Cheney paying a $250 million plea bargain fine in Nigeria. The plea was to avoid a jail term for bribery in behalf of Halliburton a company that is in the business of supplying materials for WAR. What thickens the plot of this cover-up is former US President George H Bush and politician James Baker came to the snarling Cheney's aid in negotiating the result. Both are from Texas known for its OIL. Recently in our query to professionals in the travel industry if they had heard about the Cheney plea bargain story the reply was NO. The reasons why is the story was ignored by CNN and other major media outlets who focused on the war in Afghanistan and instilling the fear of terrorism to justify war to the public. As is well known the film and media industries are controlled by Jews. This is a story for WikiLeaks to reveal as to why there was and is a cover-up of one of the most despised Vice Presidents in American political history. Though 2010 ended with such a negative tone the second half started off with soccer fever as the World Cup came to its conclusion. Though we seek only three stories for each month July provided four that given their ratings couldn't be ignored and also they topped out World Cup coverage. Our readership focused on our stories relating to travel issues in our TV columns regarding being locked up abroad in Thailand and Bangladesh of women trying to make a quick buck trafficking drugs. Those stories were constants in our NR Top 10 ratings. Our Phnom Penh Happenings column of July also maintained strong readership. It featured the US military band and the Don Bosco School building another facility in Phnom Penh. That column also pointed out the dangers of having to walk in the streets of Phnom Penh since the sidewalks are cluttered with parked vehicles indicating Cambodia's lack of concern for PUBLIC SAFETY. Former NBA star Magic Johnson raised some eyebrows when he criticized LeBron James for making a career move to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers and sign with the Miami Heat. Again Johnson proved that he lives in an I, ME, MY world and has too much to say about matters that are none of his business. August featured public safety and fairness issues as the US Embassy in Phnom Penh started charging fees for services that were previously free. Obviously they need that money to party on while not doing their job as PUBLIC SERVANTS not CIA police. A television feature of Bernie Madoff Behind Bars also attracted our readers. September was a month that produced five stories that attracted interest from our readers. They include former NFL great George Blanda passing away. The focus then shifted to political matters such as Cambodia begs for more money, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad outthinking Larry King for the second consecutive year on the Larry King talk show featured in out television reviews. Two other television reviews made the list the Mai Ly Massacre and a five part series Murders In The Name of God. October produced two stories one relating travel with an Amazing Race Asia contestant being assaulted in Sri Lanka and more on George Blanda but the driving force of interest in that column was former Cambodian Football Association President and now ASEAN Football Federation Vice President Ravy Khek regarding the cloudy details of Khek's financial past is being examined. A Cambodia Daily story revealed that Khek was involved with the Cambodian Shipping Corporation that came under investigation when 100 kilos of cocaine was seized by French authorities on a ship registered by the shipping company. He received $16,800 monthly from the company whose chairman is his brother Sakara Khek. Sakara claims that the money was a gift. Overall bank documents indicate that Khek received $1,494,693 from the company. In addition the Cambodia Daily published a piece in their December 29th 2010 edition (Page 38) which included Khek's behavior towards his former wife Nina prior to their divorce. It noted that Khek beat her up, kicking her on the floor, sending her to the hospital. He threatened to kill her, brandishing a pistol and loading the bullets right in front of her. November was mired in tragedy with our news report of the deaths of over 350 Cambodian people who panicked on a swaying bridge and were crushed or suffocated on the last day celebrating their Water Festival. On a lighter note a story we wrote caught on fire and was picked up by major media around the world regarding the NBA's Miami Heat's poor 9-8 start of the season with three super star players. We asked if THE HEAT IS ON for their coach Eric Spolestra. Since that two part story the Heat raised their game and got it together to currently lead their division. In winding up the year our story Life Is Cheap in Cambodia points out that when someone dies or is murdered the way they do business is offer compensation. A death is worth as little as $2,000. Insurance is basically a non issue. For a foreigner to die in the country would be in a world of trouble and not properly compensation or unlikely that anyone brought to justice for committing the crime. The Marc Eberle film the CIA's Secret War drew a lot of attention. Last but not least the Dick Cheney DOING THE BUSINESS for greed and war is our top story of the year.
