THE GLEE PROJECT WINNERS ARE…

It's over and the winner has been decided in the Glee Project as program seeking replacements and additions to the current cast of Glee for their upcoming season 3. When all was said and done not only was there a winner for all of the final four benefited.

As co-creator and writer Ryan Murphy announced LA native Samuel Larsen 19, the winner he then followed up with a second first pace winner naming Irishman Damian McGinty 18, who was in the bottom three four of the nine preceding show prior to the decision making final. He was chosen because of his underdog appeal which he lived in real life on the program. Both received seven gust star appearances on the program for season 3.

Larsen was chosen due to his rocker dread lock white boy image. "We've never had anyone on the program like you before," Murphy stated.

The two remaining contestants Alex Newell 18, and Lindsay Pearce 18, were winners of two guest star appearance on the program due to their acting skills. All of these contestants have had training in theatrical arts.

If you missed the three episodes including the final that aired this week they will be repeated today Saturday Sep. 10th and tomorrow Sep. 11th as noted on our schedule below.

MORE GLEE - DID YOU KNOW?

Though the show is in a high school setting and the cast are over high school age that there are tow cast members who are 29-years old?

Whatever happened to vocal super talent Charice Pempengco? Why isn't she in more episodes. In East Asia we have only seen one episode with the Filipina star featured. Her super voice has prompted Glee's co-creator Murphy to say, "When that girl opens her mouth, angels fly out."

SABAY CONTEST OR WHAT?

There is some strange goings on with Cambodia's Sabay contest which intended to be the Grammy Awards show of Cambodia. Since that announcement the promoters have been ducking and hiding with little to no follow-up on their proposed event. The purpose was for the public to vote via SMS and choose their favorite of three categories which included singer, actor and TV MC (presenter).

What has transpired are numerous magazines using some of the contestants on their cover page thus giving some contestants the edge. In Cambodia it is said that nothing is free and everything is paid for including magazine coverage of supposedly stars. Some of those said to be stars notified the contest to take down their photos from there web site. A day after we filed a report of their request the web site went dead linking no information about the contest. Where is Interpol when you need them?

Further research turned up that on a Sabay forum some youths are complaining about participating in a Sabay owned gaming contest where they are in the dark about what is going on as there was to be prizes after they were charged for their SMS entries to participate.

Further clouding the issue is the Phnom Penh Post which heavily promoted the contest with a two page pictorial in its May 23rd edition in what they described as a socialite event. Since the contest announcement the publication has featured some of the contestants in what they describe as a social feature. Sabay's fast food companies buy a tremendous amount of advertising in the Post most prominently on the TV schedule sections.

Yesterday Friday Sep. 9th the Khmer and English language newspaper published a story in about what goes on in Cambodia's entertainment business regarding sex, lies, videotape, use & abuse and murder. Basically Khmer entertainers are more looked upon as pieces of meat rather than true talent.

It described the disappearance of DJ Ano who went missing from the Women's Talk show on TV-3. Her whereabouts were unknown and it was suspected that she was murdered. It was alleged that the wife of a high up policeman assigned her bodyguards as hit-men to cut up Ano's face and pubic parts. Ano's family was said to have moved from their residences for fear of their lives. Weeks later Ano later surfaced unscathed but disappeared again. It is believed that she is living in France.

The piece also noted other Cambodian entertainers that become girlfriends of married politicians and police who were murdered or had acid thrown on them to disfigure their bodies. Some became wheelchair bound.

The article notes that in 1999 16-year-old actress Tat Marina was doused with acid. The wife of a senior official was the key suspect in having her body guards commit the crime. None of the perpetrators of any of the victims have been apprehended. That situation raises some questions about how long was this relationship going on and what was the age of the victim when this alleged official began his involvement with her. At that time fifteen was the age of consent in Cambodia. In large part Khmer entertainers are viewed as pieces of meat, used, abused and not highly respected.

THAILAND IN THE NEWS

The promotion ads that the Thailand Tourism bureau aired this past year were absolutely amazing… using Thailand Just As You Remember. Remember what? What we remember are all of the murders of innocent civilians and foreigners during their bloody 18th coup in 70 years as reported a BBC report September 4th.

The report focused on the killing of Italian photographer Fabio Palegni whereas an investigation resulted in the responsibility was uncertain during the military rule an attempt to stop red shirt protesters.

The piece also pointed out that a volunteer nurse Ked who was working in what was supposed to be a protected temple was murdered. Again no responsibility was found. Now Thailand is trying to sell itself on what a great investment opportunity it is. Invest in what another coup? Least not did the public forget the mysterious death of actor David Carradine who supposedly hanged himself IN A CLOSET with the hand tied behind his back a trick that Houdini would have had difficulty pulling off. The Thai authorities deemed the death a suicide a decision that Carradines family and friends strongly dispute. To use a previous Thai tourism slogan… Thailand… just as amazing as you remember. YES WE DO...

IT'S ON!!!--???

AXN is at it again with another attempt to succeed with a Mauy Thai martial arts contest titled The Challenger. They premier is scheduled to air September 15th. The network previously announced a repeat of their Contender Asia series which aired in 2008. The follow-up show never materialized. The question is will ANX be able to pull this one off.
