Monday September 6, 2010 PAULA ABDUL WAS NO FOOL IN RECOGNIZING THEIR HARMONY Former American Idol judge Paula Abdul got a lot of things wrong but she was spot on when during the final four program of season eight. After Adam Lambert and Allison Iraheta sang as a duo Abdul suggested that the two due more of it in the future. As fate or 19 Entertainment would have it the two have been touring the USA this summer with Iraheta being the opening act for Lambert. Female guitarist Orianthi is also on the bill. The tour is scheduled to continue through December. Orianthi an Australian was rehearsing to tour with Michael Jackson during the time of his death last year. Lambert, Iraheta and Orianthi are managed by 19 Entertainment and 19 Recordings/Jive a company Idol creator Simon Fuller founded. In 2006, Iraheta won the Telemundo reality show, Quinceañera, where she sang in both English and Spanish. The prize was a reward of $50,000 and a recording contract, though only the reward money was granted. By the way has anyone figured out who the auditing firm for the American Idol finals Telescope is and what relationship they have with 19 Entertainment or American Idol's creator Simon Fuller? Think about it... CHARICE… PERFECT CASTING Thanks to You Tube Filipina singer Charice Pempengco's talents were discovered and eventually caught the eye of musician/songwriter/producer David Foster who enabled her to receive the attention and respect she deserves. The now 18-year-old had s slow start when in 2005, she joined Little Big Star, a talent show in the Philippines loosely patterned after American Idol. She was eliminated after her first performance but was later called back as a wildcard contender and eventually became a finalist. Although she was a consistent top scorer in the final rounds, she only finished in third place based on text voting. It was not until 2007 that she gained worldwide recognition after an avid supporter started posting a series of her performance videos on You Tube under the username FalseVoice. These videos received millions of hits making Pempengco an Internet phenomenon. Pempengco appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show in an episode entitled the "World's Smartest Kids", where she performed Whitney Houston's I Have Nothing. After the show, Winfrey called up David Foster to see what could do for Pempengco. She performed with Foster for the first time as one of the entertainers on the opening of the MGM Grand at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Ledyard, Connecticut. She made her debut on the international concert stage in Foster's tribute concert, Hitman: David Foster and Friends, at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. She performed a medley of songs from The Bodyguard as well as her standard, "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going". A CD/DVD of the concert, including Pempengco's The Bodyguard medley, was released on November 11, 2008. The show was aired several times on PBS and other public television networks starting in December 2008 under the Great Performances banner. Her talents were largely ignored in the Philippines until she was respected and supported by entertainment figures in other nations. Now the cherry is about to be put on the top of her now ice cream Sunday career. On June 22, 2010, Pempengco herself confirmed that she will join the cast of the hit US television series Glee on its second season. As a recurring character, she will reportedly play a foreign exchange student with astounding vocals who will present serious competition against lead character Rachel Berry (played by Lea Michele). If there ever was perfect casting this is it. Charice has a voice in the class of Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey and will now expand her talent to acting roles. This young lady is a winner. AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL Cycle 14 We know who the winner is of America's Top Model Cycle 14 is and you would be shocked but we're not going to divulge that information (shame on us). What we will reveal is that one contestant Raina Hein is an athlete and was a member on an NCAA championship winning volleyball team. Hein has an interesting sweet personality as well as good looks. Check her out! At this point of the season the cast is somewhat interesting with plenty of divergent personalities. Two of the girls claim to have gotten pregnant after having sex THE FIRST TIME. The question is did Madonna's song Like a Virgin have anything to do with this predicament? Overall we rate this series a watch it if you have the time. On a scale of 10 we give it a 6. Top model is becoming redundant and boring. NATIONAL RADIO PUBLISHED IN 5 LANGUAGES National Radio text is published in five languages, English, Thai, French, Russian and Khmer (Cambodian language).
