AMERICAN IDOL Eliminate Melinda Doolittle - Blake Lewis & Jordin Sparks FINAL 2
It's down to the final two to compete for the American Idol title as surprisingly Melinda Doolittle was voted out by the American voters thus 17-year-old Jordin Sparks and long shot Blake Lewis survived to compete for the AI crown. The elimination of Doolittle took most people by surprise since she was admired by the judges for her super talent. In man on the street interviews by AI host Ryan Seacrest during the last few weeks at the Farmers Market in Hollywood most of the people said the liked Lakisha Jones who was eliminated last week , Doolittle and Sparks. Seacrest had to interject well what about Blake Lewis to get a comment on the singer. Along with Jones, Doolittle they posses the two best voices in the competition. Doolittle excelled in her vocal technique that was flawless. Of all of the competitors she was the most consistent in her performance and in choosing the right songs to compliment her talent. But for the American voters that wasn't enough to get her to the final. The back story is that the day prior on the performance show when Seacrest asked Simon Cowell who he thought would reach the final the acrid judge expressed his desire to see Doolittle in the final. Unbelievably his opinion didn't wash with the American public. To say that Cowell's comments was Doolittle's death wish would be an exaggeration. The fact remains that along with the elimination of Jones last week the two best voices are now out of the competition. The two finalists Sparks and Lewis excel in personality. Last week we noted that those two would be great in a television sitcom. They both are exuberant in their presentations and display a positive energy that has taken them through some rough performances. Not to slight Lewis' accomplishment it raises the question of the accuracy and methods used in tabulating the votes. Is there an outside source to monitor the count? Can spamming the phones contribute to the total count? Voters can vote as much as they want. Yes this is the week that American Idol voters will decide…. WHO WILL BE THE NEXT AMERICAN IDOL. IT'S ON!!! THE APPRENTICE Donald Trump's The Apprentice is on again Thursday nights at 9 PM on the Star World Channel. For those viewers in Malaysia this is the same series that was televised last summer on the Malaysian TV 3 channel. FEAR FACTOR Fear Factor returns to the airwaves in a supposedly new Season 6 that will be televised at 8 PM on the AXN channel. AXN has been running reruns of previous series the past few months. Is this new or not…well… tune in and find out. THE CONTENDER The reality boxing series The Contender is on again with the rerun of the season 2 series. This was the best series with former boxing champion Sugar Ray Leonard taking over the hosting responsibilities and Rocky (Sylvester Stallone) is now off camera and taking the production credits.
